YI has partnered with its consulting arm, YI Advisors, to create and run several mobile applications designed to meet young adults where they are – on their smartphones. A recent Pew study indicates that 92 percent of young adults own smartphones. By leveraging mobile formats, we are able to deliver high quality functionality and services that help Millennials navigate complicated financial decisions and ultimately improve their economic security. Below are a few examples of our latest work.

Here to Career: We designed and developed an innovative app that allows California students and their families to navigate educational and career pathways available through the California Community Colleges system. The app includes an interactive quiz on career interests, personalized suggestions on programs and colleges, and geographically-targeted content to help students take charge of their future. Get Covered Connector: The Young Invincibles Get Covered Connector health insurance enrollment platform enables consumers to book in person navigator appointments, making them 50% more likely to enroll in health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. The system allows navigators around the country to manage complex scheduling demands. When a consumer books an appointment, they receive an automated SMS notification of their appointment time and location, providing busy consumers with a just-in-time nudge to make it to their enrollment appointment. StreetLight Chicago: A Pew Research study indicates that the majority (62 percent) of homeless young adults have access to a smartphone. To help reach this population in the Chicago area and provide up-to-date information on resources available to them, we partnered with the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless to develop a mobile app with a directory of services such as drop in centers and health care resources. Users can also book overnight beds in shelters through the app. See more on iTunes here.
