National Student Parent Success Symposium

Location: Portland, Oregon

Time: June 18, 2018, 9:00am - June 20, 2018, 4:00pm

Services for Students with Children on the Portland State University campus is proud to host the 2018 National Student Parent Success Symposium (NSPSS) conference.  The NSPSS is the only national conference that promotes the advancement of support services for college and university students who are raising children while completing their education. This Symposium, with the theme,  “Lifting Generations Together” will bring researchers, faculty, program administrators, policy makers and student parents together to explore the multi-generational benefits and challenges of ensuring student parent success.

In each of the last 14 years, educators, administrators, researchers and policy leaders from around the country have come together to examine the status of low-income parents (most are mothers and disproportionately women of color) who are seeking higher education. During this annual event participants share accomplishments, campus approaches, research and policy initiatives and explore emerging issues that affect the success of parents seeking a degree.
