YI West is building a movement!

We are looking for young adults who are ready and excited to become the next generation of community leaders. This program is a unique hands-on leadership development program aimed to train young adults to engage in their community around major issues that impact our generations such as higher education (access and affordability), health care (access, affordability, and prevention) and economic security.

The Young Advocates Program is a paid 10-week leadership development program for young adults aged 18-34. Participants will learn about issues that impact young adults in California, how to use stories as a tool for community organizing, how to build coalitions, how to track legislation and local ordinances, and how to build momentum via social media.

The dates of the program will run September 16th – December 9th 2022 and participants will meet twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays. With the exception of 2-3 meetings, meetings will be held virtually throughout the program and attendance is required.
