Dear Secretary Sebelius and Director DeParle:
As leading organizations dedicated to ensuring that the health coverage needs of all Americans, including young adults, are adequately addressed in the reform process, we are writing 1) to dispute any arguments being put forth attempting to categorize student health plans as “short-term limited duration insurance,” and 2) to urge speedy but far-sighted regulatory action to clarify how student health insurance plans will be regulated, and which important protections federal reform will provide for them.
