Dear Secretary Sebelius:
The Affordable Care Act’s prohibition on cost-sharing for specified preventive care services will make it easier and affordable for typically low-income young adults to obtain essential care. Indeed, young people need the new rule and access to these types of benefits more than most. As such, we support and commend the proposed rule on preventive benefits. At the same time, we urge the Department not to expand the exemption to this rule, particularly as it pertains to student health insurance.
