Young Invincibles Hosts Chicago-based Artivism Event to Discuss Impact of Pandemic

(Chicago, IL) Thursday, Young Invincible’s Midwest office hosted Post Pandemmy, an artivism event powered by the Generation Vaxxed campaign. The event brought together 12 local artists, poets, DJs, rappers, singers, performers, and dancers to showcase stories about their mental health and post-pandemic experiences.

Three years after the pandemic began, the conversation about Covid-19 has slowed, yet the impacts continue to affect young people in full force. The intersection between art and activism at this event created a vibrant space for young adults to express how the pandemic has impacted their mental health through various art mediums.

In response, Raquael Logan, Midwest Outreach Coordinator at Young Invincibles, said:

“Art is a compelling way for someone to share their story. Post Pandemmy allowed artists and community members to come together, share their experiences, and have productive conversations about the pandemic’s impact.

We often don’t think of art as a form of activism or a way to create change; however, it is one of the most impactful ways to express ourselves and call for necessary change. Post Pandemmy is an incredible example of how we can demand action in ways different from traditional activism.”
