YI Member Liz Wilson Tells Committee Why We Needed Health Reform

Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, Young Invincibles member Liz Wilson, 23, is able to afford the care she needs for a potentially fatal chronic condition, she testified on Tuesday. Speaking before a field hearing of the U.S. House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, Liz told lawmakers how health reform will allow her to stay on her mother’s insurance plan until she turns 26. Without reform, she said, she would have had to find a way to pay huge medical bills on her own. Watch news coverage of Liz’s testimony here.
