College was supposed to be exciting, but during the pandemic, it became one of the hardest times of my life. I was struggling with anxiety and depression, barely able to keep up. When I tried to explain to a professor what I was going through, I was told, “College isn’t supposed to be easy, everyone has problems.” That moment made me feel invisible. But instead of staying quiet, I chose to speak up. I joined student support spaces and began advocating for mental health awareness. I helped organize events, shared my story, and made sure others knew they weren’t alone. That experience turned my pain into purpose. I believe every college student deserves support, understanding, and professors who are trained to respond with care. It’s time higher education makes mental health a priority.
