National Youth Enrollment Day

New Year – New Health Care

(Washington, DC) – Today, Young Invincibles and our partners are celebrating National Youth Enrollment Day (NYED) – an important opportunity for action to ensure young adults are aware of their health care coverage options and have the tools to get covered. The deadline to enroll in coverage has been extended to January 15, and there are new, expanded financial assistance options available.

In response, Mina Schultz, ACA Outreach and Enrollment Program Manager for Young Invincibles issued the following statement.

“It’s a new year and that means new health care! Thanks to expanded financial help, coverage is more affordable than ever before. In fact, four out of five HealthCare.Gov shoppers can find a plan for $10 per month or less. Additionally, an expanded Navigator program means young people don’t have to go it alone – free, expert enrollment help is now available in every state. We encourage young adults to connect with their local Navigator to get answers to their questions and learn more about their coverage options. You can find a Navigator in your area by visiting GetCoveredAmerica.org.

To date, this Open Enrollment period has seen a historic number of Americans signing up for quality, affordable health coverage. As we approach the January 15 deadline, we want to continue the trend and spread the word about the affordable options available, particularly to young adults. Today we want young adults to take note – don’t wait, get enrolled now!”
