Dumb Out: Student Loan Default Rate In Decline

“It seems that the strategy to reduce student loan defaults has worked as the U.S. Department of Education has reported a decline in defaults over the past three years. It is likely this is the result of the U.S. DoE focusing on helping people make continuous payments by implementing programs that do just that. First of all, new data shows that the initial payment rate is lower than before—initially students had to repay at a rate of 14.7 percent, but this year it is down to 13.7 percent.” Read more here.
