Cradle-to-Career Data System Unveils First Dashboard Focused on Student Pathways
(Sacramento, CA) – The California Cradle-to-Career Data System is proud to announce the upcoming launch of its first-ever dashboard, focused on Student Pathways. This interactive tool will provide California’s education stakeholders with a comprehensive look at the educational journey of public high school students, from their transition to college, to post-graduation outcomes.
The Student Pathways dashboard features dynamic data visualizations that answer critical questions such as:
- How do students navigate from high school to college and the workforce?
- What is the average time to complete a degree?
- How much do graduates earn five years after completing their degree?
The dashboard will also allow users to filter data based on various student characteristics, including race, gender, foster status, and more, offering a detailed look at the experiences of different student populations.
Katrina Linden, West Regional Director at Young Invincibles said:
“Centralized access to data is essential for understanding student success and identifying areas for improvement in education and career pathways. The new dashboard will equip communities with the tools to enhance educational outcomes for all Californians. This is a monumental step forward for young adults across the state and will be critical in helping policymakers make informed decisions to improve student opportunities.”
The first version of the dashboard will include:
- Student Pathways: See how students transition from high school to college and track degree completion rates.
- Wages During College: Understand when and how students begin earning income while still in college.
- Post-Graduation Earnings: View the income levels of students up to five years after completing their degrees.
- Data Disaggregation: Filter by demographic characteristics and school district for a deeper dive into how different groups are faring.
This launch follows extensive collaboration across California, with over 100 public meetings and contributions from more than 200 individuals across educational, research, and policy organizations.
The Cradle-to-Career Data System aims to improve educational outcomes by providing stakeholders with the data they need to drive positive change. With this dashboard, school boards, districts, and policymakers will have access to critical insights to make decisions that improve student success across the state.
