In Colorado, young people are rewriting the rules—and the future.
Since launching in 2016, Young Invincibles’ Colorado team has become a leader in advancing economic opportunity and amplifying youth voices across the state. From health care to higher education and workforce equity, we ensure young adults—especially those from low-income and historically underrepresented communities—are at the center of public policy conversations.
Through our paid Young Advocates Program (YAP), we’ve provided over 900 hours of advocacy training to more than 300 young Coloradans. We’ve reached over 1,000 young people in person and 250,000 virtually, connecting them with crucial information on health care and education access. Our youth leaders have delivered more than 150 legislative testimonies, met with hundreds of lawmakers, and placed over 40 media stories spotlighting young adult voices.
We’ve shaped state decision-making—advising the Governor’s Office and the Department of Higher Education on CARES Act spending, developing mental health and food access checklists for campuses, and creating Evokate, a mental health advocacy toolkit designed by and for marginalized young people.
Our research agenda centers youth experience, with key reports on gender equity in apprenticeships, parenting students, preventive care access, and the future of women in Colorado’s workforce. We also host “Dismantle to Rebuild,” a blog series that brings young adult voices into our annual policy development process.
In a state emblematic of the Southwest’s growth and diversity, we continue to amplify young voices to shape a more equitable and inclusive future.
