(Washington, DC) – Today, the House of Representatives advanced its “one, big, beautiful bill” that contains over a trillion dollars in cuts from Medicaid, SNAP, and higher education to the Senate. Congress is another step closer to gutting programs for young people to give more tax breaks to billionaires.

In response, Krystal D. Milam, National Policy & Advocacy Director at Young Invincibles said:

“Today’s successful vote on the ‘big, beautiful bill’ sends a very ugly message – that too many in Congress are willing to throw millions of young people under the bus if it means the richest can get a little richer. While young people are fighting to achieve basic stability, Congress is rushing through reckless cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and higher education.

The Senate must do the right thing and reject this bill. We cannot prioritize the whims of a few billionaires and big corporations over the needs of the many. Young people demand a future where health care, education, and basic survival aren’t up for sale, and we won’t back down.”
