(972) 510-3395 | [email protected] (Washington, DC) – Today, Young Invincibles is one of five research teams to be selected by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Center for Health Justice to receive access to AAMC polling data to conduct research. This data will inform Young Invincibles’ research project, “Young Adults and Health Care Access through a Financial Equity Lens using Ordinal Logistic Regression Modeling.” The research project will examine the relationship between the difficulty of accessing health care among various demographics, as well as the relationship between health care access and financial equity among young adults ages 18-34 by gender, race and/or ethnicity, disability, and income. Young Invincibles is honored to have the opportunity to access this data and is thrilled to work on this project to further understand barriers to accessing health care and make necessary recommendations to reduce barriers and bolster health care access. In response, Dr. Lynneah Brown, Director of Policy Research at Young Invincibles said:
“Affordable and accessible health care is a right. However, many young adults face significant barriers preventing them from receiving coverage. The AAMC data will help us identify evidence-based solutions to achieve health equity. This data will not only help us answer pivotal questions about young adult health care access, but the financial challenges they face. We are so excited to have been selected. We want to thank AAMC for gathering such rich data, as well as allowing us to use this data to inform health care policy and change.”
