Today, Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) introduced new legislation that would help millions of young people who are uninsured, and recently became uninsured due to the COVID-19 pandemic, get the assistance they need to get covered. The COVID Enrollment Response (COVER) Act would provide $600 million in consumer assistance funding to support outreach and enrollment efforts.

Erin Hemlin, Health Policy and Advocacy Director for Young Invincibles issued the following statement:

“Millions of young people who are currently uninsured or have lost their health care coverage due to the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for Medicaid or a low-cost ACA plan and not even know it.

That’s why Young Invincibles is proud to endorse this important legislation and commend Senator Baldwin for her long-standing commitment and leadership on this issue.”
