Experts Discuss Health Coverage Disparities Among Children And Young Adults In New York, And How To End Them

Lorraine Gonzalez-Camastra: 212-697-0942: [email protected]Westchester, New York – Ahead of Open Enrollment, health experts and advocates will present on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in New York State, and its impact on young New Yorkers. New York State has made great strides in reducing its uninsured rate for children – from 8% to less than 6% – since the NY State of Health opened for business. However, roughly 16 percent of young adults in New York are uninsured and the uninsurance rate among young Hispanics, aged 18 to 34, is 26 percent.
