FY2015 Ryan Budget Is Bad for Young Adults
- Repeals the Affordable Care Act and turns its back on the over 9 million Americans that have been able to get covered thanks to the law’s dependent coverage, Medicaid expansion, and cost support provisions.
- Removes mandatory funding for Pell Grants and freezes them for 10 years;
- Eliminates AmeriCorps and other volunteer service programs, which have helped many young adults launch their careers by helping their communities;
- Weakens job training programs for young adults, at a time when unemployment numbers remain severely high for our generation;
- Warps the way that the government accounts for federal student loans by adding accounting penalties for lending to students and families.
