Young Invincibles’ Statement on HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’s Resignation

[WASHINGTON]—Today, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced her resignation. Sebelius has served as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services since the beginning of the Obama Administration and has overseen the passage and implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

“From her days as Kansas Governor to her service as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, no one has been a more steadfast champion on behalf of the uninsured than Secretary Sebelius,” said Aaron Smith, Executive Director of Young Invincibles. “She was a driving force behind the greatest expansion of health care coverage in the United States since the 1960s.  We look forward to working with the Secretary’s successor to make good on that promise of quality, affordable health care for all Americans.”
