Young People Stand to be Most Affected By Brett Kavanaugh’s Nomination to Supreme Court

Washington, DC – Moments ago, the Trump Administration announced the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to serve as the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. In the coming months, the U.S. Senate is expected to vote on his lifetime appointment to the Court.

In response to President Trump’s announcement, Rachel Fleischer, Executive Director of Young Invincibles, issued the following statement:

“The nomination of Judge Kavanaugh gives President Trump another opportunity to advance a dangerous agenda that’s completely out of touch with the needs of the nation’s young people. By trying to take away access to affordable care for tens of millions through sabotaging the Affordable Care Act and by creating sham voter fraud commissions as a pretext for purging the rolls of eligible voters, Trump has clearly shown he does not have young people’s best interests at heart.

Choosing Judge Kavanaugh means that young people could spend most of their lives with a Justice on the Supreme Court named by an Administration that expects devotion to a set of devastating priorities that will take this country backwards. Young people know what’s at stake with this nomination and the Senate should listen closely to the generation who stands to be most harmed by this potential Supreme Court Justice.”
