Young Invincibles’ Statement on Senate Budget

[WASHINGTON, DC]–Yesterday, the Senate Budget Committee passed a bill out of committee that invests an additional $10 billion in job training for young people and adults. With youth jobs programs facing severe cuts over the last decade, this investment would come not a moment too soon.

“We applaud the Senate Budget committee’s plan to invest in training our generation for the jobs of the 21st century,” said Rory O’Sullivan, Policy Director of Young Invincibles. “With youth unemployment rate at twice the national average, we are looking for a way to get back on track. This proposal would help our generation take a major step in the right direction.”
