Founded in 2016, the YI Rocky Mountain Office works out of Denver to advocate for economic security for young adults and families in Colorado and the broader Rocky Mountain region. Since its founding, the office has worked on top issues related to health care, higher education, and jobs.
YI Rocky Mountain has run a leadership development program on health equity, provided advocacy trainings to hundreds of young adults, and launched a digital pilot to provide young adults in rural communities with information on preventive health care. The office is currently training the next generation of young leaders through our Young Advocates initiative, a paid leadership development program. We are also running a #HealthyAdulting campaign to increase health insurance literacy and use of preventive services among Millennials in the state, through in-person workshops and digital engagement.
Read below for research, policy ideas, and fact sheets related to economic opportunity for young adults in the area, and check out our 2017 legislative agenda. If you’re interested in partnering or joining our work in Colorado or the Rocky Mountain region more generally, we’d love to hear from you!
