The concept was simple: American Idol for non-profits. 10 contestants made it to the finals with 10 ideas to fund and 3 minutes to sell it to judges on stage and a packed audience (including many interested foundations). Tamika pitched an expansion of our mobile app that brings health care educational information to young people, explaining things like where to go to find a free clinic and how to enroll in insurance. She has been prepping for this social innovation competition for well over a month now, and it showed.
