Tammy Duckworth, Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives’ 8th District, will participate in a roundtable discussion on college affordability, followed by a “Meet the Candidates” event, on Tuesday at Elmhurst College.
At 3 p.m., Duckworth will attend a College Affordability Roundtable discussion with students.
The event is sponsored by Young Invincibles, a national organization committed to “amplifying the voices of young Americans.” The roundtable is one in a series of events around the country that Young Invincibles has been hosting to discuss the impact of higher education costs on Americans between the ages of 18 and 34.
From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Duckworth will meet with Elmhurst students to talk about her candidacy for Illinois’ 8th District, which includes portions of Elmhurst.
Her Republican opponent, Joe Walsh, met with students Oct. 16.
Both the College Affordability Roundtable and Meet the Candidates events will be held in the Blume Board Room of the Frick Center, 190 Prospect Ave.
