New Responsibilities

In 2010, Congress enacted the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, known as the “ACA” or “Obamacare.” Here are some changes that might impact you.

  • Almost everyone will be required to have health insurance coverage in 2014. If you do not have qualifying insurance coverage and do not fall under an exception to the law, you may have to pay a fee.
  • Starting in 2015, if you work full-time for a business that employs over 50 full-time employees your employer will have to provide you with insurance coverage or pay a fine.
