Does Your Broke-ness Have You Down This Holiday Season? We’re Here to Help.

By Adrienne Sheares

Going into the holiday season while you’re broke can be less than fun.  You might think Black Friday and Cyber Monday are out of your league unless there’s a 100% off deal.  Maybe you sound like a broken record because you’re constantly repeating the mantra, “it’s the thought that counts,” when it comes time for gift giving.  Perhaps you find yourself stealing your little cousin’s crayons so you can make homemade gifts (we don’t judge here at Young Invincibles).

In the spirit of the holidays, we want to offer you an opportunity to have an extra $500 in your pocket.

Prices for education are rising across the board.  Average tuition at community colleges rose steeply, more than doubling from just over $1,000 in the 1980 academic year to $2,710 in 2010. Since 1991, the average cost of a 4-year public university has risen a whopping 84%. As some might say, “the tuition is too damn high.” We want to hear from you this holiday season.  Whether you’re in school, know someone in school, want to enroll or find yourself struggling to pay back student debt each month, we want to hear your voice.

Enter Young Invincibles’ and Student Debt Crisis’ video contest for a chance to win $500.

What do you have to do?

Create a 1-2 minute video with your solution on how to make college more affordable.  Don’t procrastinate: the deadline is the December 31st.  Be creative and use your smartphone, camera or whatever you have on hand!   To enter and find out more info, click here!
