Valhalla, NY- Westchester Community College’s (WCC’s) Single Stop and Young Invincibles, a millennial think tank and advocacy group, are celebrating the 2015 spring semester with a grand celebration called National Youth Enrollment Day 2015, Bringing Healthy Back! The objective of the event is to encourage students to sign up for health insurance ahead of the February 15 Open Enrollment deadline and take the first step in a journey towards total health. The goal is to get students healthy—financially, physically, emotionally and mentally.

At the National Youth Enrollment Day 2015, Bringing Healthy Back! event, students can enroll in new affordable health insurance plans through the NY State of Health Marketplace, meet with a nutritionist, or a health and wellness coach. The event will include FREE healthy snacks, giveaways, prize drawings, and fitness for WCC students. Single Stop partners, such as Young Invincibles, will be on hand throughout the event to provide one-on-one consultations about their health plan options. Young Invincibles’ Navigators will also be available to help people understand their options and enroll in insurance. Representatives from local financial firms will also be on site to provide students with information on banking and credit management.

About Single Stop
Single Stop USA is a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals achieve financial self-sufficiency and economic mobility. WCC partnered with Single Stop in 2012 and is located in the Gateway Center, rooms G134 and G136 on the Valhalla campus. Single Stop bridges education with FREE funding streams, including: financial advisement, health insurance enrollment, supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP), unemployment benefits, child care assistance, legal services and tax filing/preparation. Single Stop helps to provide a bridge of stability for students and their families while educational goals are pursued.

About Young Invincibles
Young Invincibles is a national non-profit that began in 2009, out of the recognition that young people’s voices were not being heard in the debate over health care reform. A group of Georgetown law students turned their ideas to engage 18 to 34 year-olds in top policy questions into a nationwide conversation that gave Young Invincibles its start. Today, Young Invincibles continues to work to elevate the voices of young Americans in major policy debates surrounding three key issues: health care, jobs and higher education. Young Invincibles provides policy analysis, shares stories with lawmakers and media, and drives campaigns to inform and mobilize Millennials to change the status quo. It is also part of the Community Service Society of New York’s Navigator Network, providing free in-person health insurance enrollment assistance in New York State.
